If not, replace the energizer. Use tweezers to remove any stringy or hair-like material that may have twisted around the shaft.

If you ve replaced the assembly and filter still won't start, it is possible carbon or aquarium gravel may have lodged at bottom of energizer well. To determine if the energizer is functioning, plug it into an electric outlet and hold magnet impeller assembly against its outside wall.

Insert a drinking straw Nash not metal instrument into the energizer well and try to break up any sediment. Rinse the energizer well and re-assemble filter. Hold the assembly by its end caps and try to spin magnet.

If the impeller doesn spin freely, rinse under a jet of tap water to unlock it. Now hold the magnet and try to spin impeller one turn in either direction. If this doesn work, unplug the filter and empty it in your sink. If you feel a magnetic attraction, the energizer is functional.

Size:up to 60-gallons troubleshooting steps if the filter doesn start, lift wonder tube out of and remove magnet impeller assembly.

If the magnet does not spin freely, rinse under a jet of tap water to unlock it. Slide the wonder tube up and down in filter box with water still it.
